It's going to be my third week at my new salon and I am really enjoying the experience. I am learning new skills and developing a business. It's been really great connecting again with former clients and meeting new people. I love the interactions and the impact that we have on each other lives. The thing I miss the most in the new Coivd-19 world is being able to hug people. I use to greet and close each service with a hug with most clients. I didn't realize how much I missed this until this last week, it was strange not saying hello and goodbye in the same way. It's truly a friendship between us and I am looking forward to having these simple acts back. For now, I send thank you cards and appreciation gifts, and I hope they know they are cared for. As for the business side of my new career, my former salon would consider themselves a Team-Based Pay model, but in reality, we were paid hourly no matter how much work was done. While there where benefits to this model ( we had health care, 401k, and vacation offered), there were also limitations. This structure limited my growth and potential for income. The group I am currently working with allows for much more control, and growth potential. The biggest difference is the amount of time I am investing in growing my own brand. This is where I am currently pushing myself and focusing. It's the business side that I haven't had a chance a learn and it excites me to do new things. Thank you for joining on my journey, on my adventure.
